Here’s an interesting article on Hamas and why they’re gaining Palestinian support. Maybe winning the hearts and minds of the Iraqis via social services is what the US should’ve been doing all along? Instead, there were sanctions for 12+ years against innocent civilians. And now, we’re over there and their infrastructure is a total mess. No wonder they hate us. However, I must say their religious fanaticism isn’t helping matters any; Hamas’s vows to “obliterate Israel” are reprehensible. The more I see of this sort of zealotry, from any religious sector, the more I truly believe that religion is the root of all evil.
