Typographic paradigms.

Kindle2

I am becoming increasingly fascinated with the Kindle. While preparing a lecture for my typography class at MICA, I discovered that the device uses Caecilia as its typeface. I really want to get my hands on one; I see at least 3-5 per week on my commute to DC. Could its widespread adoption facilitate a revolution in screen-based typography? Could this be the digital equivalent of the Gutenberg Bible? What does it mean to design a book for the Kindle? Or are they just automated XML feeds that the designer has no control over?

I hope to do a little research and write more on this later….Just FYI, you gadget-happy typophiles.
