Was Zum Teufel?!

Tues May 6 – During this week of my getting ready to go to Seattle for ten days, today began with my setting up another photo shoot with Oslo and Mies. This time with a blingy, sparkly scarf. The Weims are pretty good about photo shoots as long as I have lots of treats in my pocket. They know they’re beautiful and seem to love looking at the camera. However, I know if they could talk, Mies would probably say, "So, where should my agent start sending these invoices?" and Oslo would say, "Well, I guess I can model in this cheap Target scarf this time, but from now on, I only wear Hermès, Chanel, or Vuitton."

Today ended with the Weims discarding of cheap scarves from Target to run wild and naked at a farm in northwestern Maryland. We’ve finally found a place to board these gray beasts when we want to travel. Little do they know that they will actually be expected to sleep in kennels like real dogs. No couches. No down pillows.

Wed May 07 – Today’s news leads with this guy in Oklahoma suing Lance Armstrong over a trademark dispute:

A Tulsa businessman who uses the phrases "Barkstrong" and "Purrstrong" on his animal charity’s pet collars has sued the Lance Armstrong Foundation in a trademark dispute.

Chris Ohman filed his suit on April 30 in federal court, and claimed the Armstrong Foundation — which has marketed popular yellow "LiveStrong" wristbands — is infringing on Ohman’s intellectual property rights because it also sells pet collars with the "LiveStrong" motto.

Meanwhile, I was talking with a friend of mine, telling her how when I die, I want to be cremated, my ashes scattered at Marymoor, our favorite dog park near Seattle. She laughed, saying that she could just picture it: my ashes about the park, with dogs tentatively approaching an ash hotspot, sniffing, wrinkling up their noses and walking away in disgust.

Wow. I am SO GRATEFUL to have such nice friends. YES, I AM. LiveStrong. Barkstrong. Burnstrong. SmellStrong. Whatever.

Thurs May 08 thru Sun May 19 – Something happened to the dogs on these days but I was in Seattle and did not witness any of it. I do know, via word-of-mouth, though, that in lieu of running with me, they did the Exorcist stairs many times with Will. As far as I could tell upon my return, however, no demons were excised in the process. These dogs are still as possessed as ever.
